I am wondering if this chap may also have been RNZAF? McCAUGHAN, Charles Ernest (Charlie): (Reg. No. 40553, WWII). On July 26, 2016, peacefully at Darfield Hospital, aged 97 years. Much loved husband of the late Jean, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Richard and Barb, and Chris and Donna, and very special grandad and great-grandad. Many thanks to the staff of Darfield Hospital and Medical Centre, and the Malvern District Nurses for their care of Charlie. Charlie was a friend of mine, his funeral is at 11am at Trinity Church Darfield on Monday. He was a Sapper in the army, North Africa, and Italy. after leaving school he trained as an electrician. After the war he became a carpenter, and from about 1963 was woodwork teacher at Darfield High School. isc

There was quite a turn out for Charlie, he was much loved through out the district.His pupils loved him because they could side track him into telling stories of his wartime adventures, these sometimes went on that long that the kids would be late for their next class. He was a Gentleman. isc

R L F Wilks was a PV-1 captain (Ventura) during second tour of 4 Sqdn from March to October 1945, then with 2 Sqdn at Ohakea from Nov 45 - Jan 46 when transferred to Reserve C, to General Reserve 16/10/50, discharged 16/10/58. He enlisted at Whenuapai 5/12/42, and graduated at Wigram (1 SFTS) as multi-engine pilot (Sergeant) in January 1944, then with 40 and 41 Squadrons prior to converting to PV-1s at Ohakea. His ultimate rank was warrant officer, and his service number was changed to 133422 in 1949. David D

I see mention of Barry's passing just weeks after Stan left us. Those two must have almost joined up together and had very similar careers in that they were both CFR later on. I think that is Barry in the front row, second from left. Most of their service was well BMT so I am a little vague on details.

Baronbezza, both Barry and Stan were Airframe fitters and good mates at the Airframe Reconditioning Squadron, at Woodbourne in the late 60's early 70's. I worked with them both when they were Corporals, and then Sergeants. Both top guys, RIP both of you.

WRIGHT, William John (Jack). RNZAF NZ402096. Passed away at Middlemore Hospital on 4 August 2016, aged 98 years. Loving husband of the late Ava, and proud father and father-in-law of Ralph and Michelle, Norris and Yvonne, Kevin and Anna, and Gary and Pam. Loved grand poppa of fourteen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. In accordance with Jack's wishes, a private service and cremation has been held.
