BRUNSKILL, John Brian: 4.6.1946 - 20.4.2017 Passed away peacefully at Waipuna Hospice.
Flying NZ is sad to report that John Brunskill, a passionate sport and recreational aviator, passed away on April 20th 2017 after losing a battle with cancer. John was a past President and Life Member of the Tauranga Aero Club. He served on the Executive of the RNZAC (Flying NZ) firstly as the Central Region Representative followed by Vice President and then President. He remained a member of Flying NZ’s competition rules committee until this day.
I knew John for nearly 30 years. Not enough room here to put all his achievements. He recently was awarded an FAI Air Sport Medal for his services to recreational and competition flying in New Zealand.
You will be missed by many John.

Bert Pond will be fare welled at the Hinuera Hall on Monday. He and two crew evaded capture but Bert had a bit of luck luck as Hugh Verity from 161 Sq made a "delivery " via Lysander on that night and had spare seats for the return. Because of his contact with the Marquis and SOE operatives , he was posted off operations.
