I have just read in a Facebook post on the RNZAF Sick or Deceased page that Wing Commander Cliff Jenks passed away this afternoon. My sincere condolences to his family and friends, especially to his son Steve Jenks, who is a member of this forum. Cliff was a renowned RNZAF officer and an aviation historian. He had been ill for some time.

I'm so sorry to learn that Dave. Seeing the cutout of Cliff among the AFMNZ's 80yr 80 Stories exhibit was a real highlight for me.
My warmest thoughts and best wishes to Steve and the Jenks family.

Yes - saw that on facebook. Very sad as Cliff was a valued member of our aviation historical fraternity. He contributed to several books, and had an excellent photo collection. His access to records helped solve several mysteries years ago. A quiet contributor and a real gentleman. Gone but certainly not forgotten. Sympathy to Steve and the family.

So sad. The passing of a great aviation historian, author and very best friend. Cliff was an inspiration to those interested in keeping the RNZAF's history alive and recorded. His sterling work with the AHSNZ's Journals over the years was outstanding. A long RNZAF career and then with the CAA. Condolences to Monica, Steve and all the family.
