Ivon Warmington will be remembered fondly by students who attended the 'Wanganui Commercial Pilots School'. Every pilot that went through the CPL School at Wanganui between 1965 and 1985 has a memory of Ivon. My one is that after the crash of Tiger ZK-BGX at Taupo in January 1966, it was, " Laddie, you have wrecked the plane, no need to burn it" as the shaking pilot tried to light a cigarette.

SGT (RTD) Douglas R. (Doug) Hilliard P92312 ACFTTECH RNZAF 1986 to 2010 then Civilian ACFTTECH Instructor. Doug passed away 18 December 2017 after battling with a long illness. Funeral details and address for condolences will be advised when known. I knew Doug at Wigram when he served with PTS, and I think also Tech Squadron. Great bloke. He used to supply the most awesome pies from his sister's bakery to all the PTS and Tech Squadron personnel. I will never forget him chundering in Sir Tim Wallis's garden in 1992, only to look up and see Sir Tim come up over the hill in his helicopter watching him, hahahahahaha. RIP mate.

Sad to see Doug Hilliard has passed. There were three Hilliard brothers serving in the RNZAF Barry joined with me in 1964, and Pete (Pierre) was an AEOP on 5 squadron for ever! When Doug was a baby he used to sit on my knee when I visited the Barry Hilliard home
