I just had word from Dan Carrodus that his uncle, Wing Commander Owen Hardy DFC, passed away yesterday at his home in Portsmouth, England, aged 95. Owen was a fighter ace who served with No.'s 72 and 485 (NZ) Squadrons. He was a great chap, I really enjoyed talking with him on several occasions, and he was a guest on the Wings Over New Zealand Show. In 2017 he flew a Spitfire again for his 95th birthday.
