It seems that NZ413113 may not have been allocated. This man looks more likely to have been NZ4311349 Abraham Stone who enlisted in 1943 and was commissioned as an air gunner on 17 Nov 44. Errol

Errol the Jo O'Reilly obituary above had WA1 in it. Do you have any idea what this means?

WA1 was the rank equivalent of AC1 (or Aircraftman First Class) for the males. In WWII rather than just Aircraftman rank. or AC, there were two levels, AC2 for the least experienced, and AC1 for those with a bit of training. So accordingly here was also WA2 and WA1 for the WAAF's. I believe the WA stood for Women's Auxiliary.

From 'By Such Deeds ' by Group Captain C.M.Hanson OBE RNZAF (Rtd), 25 Feb. 1990, in London. Unusually he was not buried till quite some time later, either late 1991 or well into 1992. I was on the firing party for his burial in a cemetery north of Christchurch, and I did not arrive at Wigram till May 1991, and I know it was many months after that.
