No address published for messages to his wife Pauline and family. A funeral service will be held on Friday 14 February 14 at 1030 hours at Cornwall Manor, Cnr Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt followed by private cremation. Y'all may be wondering at the significance of a former RNZSigs LtCol's obituary in here.... Ted Knowsley was involved at the highest echelons of NZDF Communications for many years. One of the significant projects he was in charge of was the Second Generation Defence Communications Network, which eventually replaced the former AMSS system run by the DCU RNZAF. SGDCN Nodes were established on RNZAF Wigram and RNZAF Auckland (at Hobsonville) to become a triangular network of Defence Comms facilities - those of you familar with Hobby especially will have noticed the SGDCN building as you came down the main road at Hobby, which was ringed by a mesh & barbed wire fence. Same building on Wigram had the fence omitted because (I believe) it interfered with the aesthetics of the base.
