Rego will be ZK-JQS if the weather is good on the Friday so may see you there but we will be flying home on Friday night and with the days getting shorter we most likely will not make it but will try.

Cool, it'll be good to catch up Gav if you can make it. When you say 'we', is there another name I need to add to the list?

The way I understand it we will all park up near the main gate by 6.45pm and await Brendon to come out, and each carload will be checked off as they go through the gate, and follow the line down to Brendon's hangar. I will be with John Fallon in his car.

Hi Gavin, you'll already be on base won't you, so really don't need a pass through the gate I guess.
Cheers Dave

I may be able to squeeze some people in my car (if anyone is without easy access to transport), that is from Palmy or any town on the way (or nearby) to Ohakea. Just send me a PM.
Alas can't do the same for the airshow (full up)!

I want to thank Brendon Deere for hosting a wonderful event last night. Thanks also to Guy Stevenson and Kelly Rankin. And many thanks to all the enthusiastic forum members who made it along for this special night. I thoroughly enjoyed this rare opportunity to get up close to the aeroplanes, see Brendon's museum quality displays, hear him speak about his collection and meet so many others. I hope everyone else was as happy as I was when we came away. Thanks again!

There's something else that needs to be recorded here too Dave, and that's our very special thanks to you for your efforts in facilitating the evening. As you say, a very rare opportunity not only to view the collection but also to meet Brendan and to speak with him about it, not to mention Guy of course.
Your efforts with the Forum are respected and very much appreciated, as was the opportunity to meet you and other forum mates!
Cheers Dave.

Hear hear. Guy spent about ten minutes talking with me about his flying experiences, and Brendon was busy making sure he talked to everyone. It was lovely to reacquaint myself with AL and finally meet Plonky, not to mention Guy's gorgeous Winjeel (for sale on TradeMe - forum aircraft!).
The display room was superb also, some nice 1:48 scale models of PV270 through the years, as well as hundreds of other types. Mosquitos were particularly prevalent...

Everyone has covered the evening pretty well, but there was a lot of memorabilia I quite like, especially this: Mk.XIV, I think?

Thanks again Brendon, Guy and Dave, for such a wonderful evening. What a privilege to meet AL and Plonky up close and have Brendon himself tell their stories. A beautifully presented hangar (museum? shrine??!) and collection of aircraft, and a treat for us warbird geeks to have such knowledgeable hosts. I will remember and treasure the experience for a long time! Thanks again, cheers, Chris.
