No thoughts on my question regarding the cockpit roof shape? I wouldn't rely on those drawings for exact shapes Dave. AS there only paint drawings I doubt they'd be drawn to the exact shape Looking at some photos I see what you mean though, the side profile looks like the roof is higher with a bigger curve than the kit. I'm not going to try and fix that.

Thanks, A friend who works at he museum took a heap of photos for me. But teh more the merrier. Why not start a thread in the photo board and post them there? Calum , I did them up and start a new thread in the 'Persevering New Zealand Aviation', the photos are very low res photoed well over twelve years back. Thanks Ian, I'll look them up.

I wouldn't rely on those drawings for exact shapes Dave. As those drawings were not posted till after I first asked about the obvious incorrect shape of the kit, I definitely wasn't relying on those drawings. There are some much more accurate drawings in an issue of Scale Aircraft Modeller magazine, which I have "somewhere", but goodness knows where it is.

Fair enough, I was looking for some decent panel line drawings before I started but there isn't much out there. I believe there might be an old Warpaint publication on the Andover but I haven't seen it to date.

Finally Paints on. First I shot the rubber de icing boots on leading edges with Tamiya XF 85 Rubber black. Then I masked them over. I've gone with a hard edge to the camo. I expect they were just chalked out and painted freehand by the RNZAF painters back then but in this scale I think the camo look better with a hard edge. Pity it's so tedious For the big flat surfaces I enlarged the drawings to the correct size. Then I cut them out and stuck them to the appropriate areas with double sided tape. It's been a long time since I've painted something this big, and with a complicated camo scheme. I'm just doing it in stages. I'm using Mr Color Lacquers for the tan and light green. The dark green is Mr Hobby Hopefully I'll get it done before the weekend

Here you go Harry It's been a while since I've updated this but I've been workng on it off an on, as well as being distracted with real ife So after multiple touch ups and adjustments of the pattern it's done... But as I went to decal it I decided I wasn't happy with the pattern here. It's quite distinctive as the roundel goes in the curve between the tan and dark green. The tan is to wide and the size of that door was annoying me Figured I might as well fix the oversized door as well

The decals are very thick and it was very time consuming cutting around each one, especially all the little ones. As such I left many of the really tiny ones off as you really couldn't see them, especially on the dark underside. I might actually finish this thing - although I'm dreading removing the masking around the cockpit windows...
