I cannot understand why the manufacturer doesn't place a stiffening rod into the mould when pouring the resin. That's something I fail to understand too. It's why a 1/72 resin Andover is on my wants-but-not-really list, and likewise a 1/72 Hughes XF-11 - very long, thin wings - and I'd hate to have warpage after having spent a lot of time and effort. I'm glad you've been able to save it, Calum, but I totally sympathise with wanting to take a break. If you're anything like me you'll remember you have this in a few months and have a new sense of purpose and drive. All the best!

If its any consolation, the wing roots of my Contrail Vac formed Andover were a right pain too, and took a fair bit of internal beefing up. long thin wings are a pain! Stick with it though, It'll be worth it! Maybe the manufacturers name (S&M) has a hidden meaning

The Andover got a bit of time spent on it over the weekend. Lots of putty and paint touch ups. Mask, paint and repeat. Hopefully this will be it and I can get onto the landing gear etc.

I have been following this a little, never tried a vac formed kit, but appears to be a damn good save from the seagull winged look.

I hope it's a light and not the sun at 35+ degrees You're on the home strait now mate - just those pesky windows and the props! The underside aerials look great.

All in all that's a pretty good rendition of an old soldier - I can almost hear the scream of the RR Darts!

Lucky it was not old number 21 , would have been very difficult to paint bird pooh on the tail area , "I'm in no rush to do another" rubbish, you probably like me and have another six projects on the go, superb effort!

Great outcome Calum - it's been quite the journey but it really looks great. I'd love to have one like that in my model hangar!
