There are lots of rumours going around about what the US might be sending over (the timing with the Avalon show is significant!). There is also talk of a Squadron of US fast jets coming to Ohakea for an exercise. Time will tell I guess.

Does the US have slow jets?

A-10s! For a bit anyway. Transports/tankers/AWACS Maritime Patrol doesn't seem like the right term any more, so much time over land! But P-8.
I'm thinking about the Friday at Masterton (should have TVAL scheduled then), the rest of the weekend at Art Deco, and 2 days at Ohakea for me. And my normal 4+ days at Omaka.

I'm hoping that the warbirds Dak will be doing a charter to go down. I'd be a starter for that.

Might just consider hopping the ditch for this one. Avalon is on the menu for next year too, along with my first pilgrimage to Temora for Warbirds Downunder. Should be a good year

If that's the case traffic management might be required at Frecklington and Bailey roads let alone during the airshow

Do NZ or JQ operate any special passenger charter flights into OH from AKL for this event. If so how does one go about getting tickets?

HOPE they sort the BLOODY PARKING OUT do not want a repeat of the parking debarcle at the last show. Parking was the least of the issues compared to the overall traffic management plan that was ill conceived and fell over on the day. I've got a feeling that won't be repeated. Do NZ or JQ operate any special passenger charter flights into OH from AKL for this event. If so how does one go about getting tickets? Probably a bit early for that.

It could be argued that parking was the issue, cars were parked miles away from Ohakea on SH1.

Some weeks ago the Air Force's Facebook page had a logo advertising the show as the Air Tattoo - no sign of anything on their website newer than the original press release, though. Page 23 of the latest Air Force News: airforce.mil.nz/downloads/pdf/airforce-news/afn178.pdfNote now a 2 day show, not 3. Also mentioned on FlyDC3 FB page.

Hmm, AVM Mike Yardley is long gone from the RNZAF. Maybe they need to update that release?

Also, are Fly DC3 only mentioning two dates because those are the two days they are flying down for?

Also, are Fly DC3 only mentioning two dates because those are the two days they are flying down for? No, the post originally had a day trip on the Friday as well, but the RNZAF corrected them. Now FB is making it harder to link to them? Just pasting that link in didn't work, I had to attach it to some text - or maybe it is a forum oddity?

Makes sense though,RNZAF airshows never usually have a public practice day. It's pretty much always a closed practice.

Hi, I'm trying to plan for this with my son, can anyone provide some new information about aircraft other than RNZAF, both domestic and international. Thanks.

I don't think any details have been confirmed and released yet.
