I see on the RNZAF Facebook page, they left the following comment: "With WOW being held the previous weekend, the intent is for that event to focus on Warbirds while the Air Tatoo will focus on current capability"... I'm hoping that means more than just a couple of RAAF Hawks, otherwise it's going to be over pretty quickly. Any idea on when the aircraft details will be released (for WOW too, for that matter)?

No details have been released by either airshow team so we just have to wait and see.

Wait and Hope Dave.
They must be expecting a little more than just the RAAF Hawks. Don't think they will be able to fill a day with our equipment.....

Tickets go on sale for 80th Anniversary Air TattooNZ DEFENCE FORCE·MONDAY, 17 OCTOBER 2016 Tickets for the highly anticipated Royal New Zealand Air Force’s 80th Anniversary Air Tattoo go on sale tomorrow at midday. The 2017 Air Tattoo, on 25 and 26 February at RNZAF Base Ohakea, will showcase the RNZAF’s latest air capability, alongside long-serving favourites and guest aircraft from international militaries. The newly formed Black Falcons aerobatics team will also take to the skies to thrill the crowd. Deputy Chief of Air Force, Air Commodore Mark Brunton, said this was a rare opportunity for the public to get up close to its Air Force and he hoped people would take the opportunity to come and see it in action. “We want this to be a great day out for everyone and we are excited to be able to show off our Air Force to the public during our 80th anniversary year, so people can see the valuable job we do and meet the highly trained people who do it,” AIRCDRE Brunton said. With the 75th anniversary air show in 2012 drawing such a large crowd it has been decided to offer a two-day event to cater for the large number of people expected. RNZAF Base Ohakea Commander Group Captain Nick Olney said to address some of the traffic-management issues from the previous event tickets would be limited, there would be no gate sales, and park-and-ride options would be available. “We’re looking forward to hosting a huge crowd here and a lot of planning is going in to the event to help everyone who attends have a great time,” GPCAPT Olney said. Tickets are available from Ticketek: Adults $35, Children 5-16 $10, younger than 5 free. Every browser/system I use to access Ticketek gives an error of 'Cookies need to be enabled' (in case others are getting the same thing).

I just booked and paid for mine on the Ticketek website no problems. I'm using Windows 10.

I can understand why the 3 different options that I have via work might have issues (although cookies are enabled), but my personal phone gives the same message. Although if I force the phone to the mobile m.ticketek.co.nz site it works.
Update: Now works normally

just saw the list of foreign naval ships attending the 75th review... if we get half of that number of foreign interest at Ohakea it will be extraordinary.
Super/legacy Hornets from Australia I guess are a given. F-16 (and dare I ask on a stopover to Avalon, an F-22) from the US. F-15 from Singapore. Su-30 or Mig-29 from Malaysia... I can only dream.
But the navy folk must be stoked with that hardware

F-22 is old hat for Avalon, F-35!

I'm very hesitant to decide whether to go until some sort of programme/participant list is out. Even if I run the risk of missing out on a ticket.

They aren't even indicating when they will announce participants, which is poor form.

Don't forget it is a military airshow with mainly military participants, and as with any military airshow appearance, it's always 'subject to operational requirements'. So expecting a list of committed participants four months out in a time when militaries are all stretched is a bit unrealistic. And they may not even know when they might know. The US for example has an election coming up, who knows how this may suddenly effect things?

Which is why they should be saying "unfortunately we don't expect to start announcing any expected foreign participants until mid-December (or whenever) at the earliest", rather than the current non-information.

Your answer from the RNZAF Air Tattoo page just posted:
QUICK UPDATE Park and Ride seats from either Bulls or Feilding and venue car parking tickets are available when you book your 2017 Air Tattoo tickets through Ticketek. We will announce the guest international aircraft that is coming as soon as we have confirmation. There is some very exciting aircraft on the cards. Unfortunately there is no facility for private aircraft to be able to fly in to Ohakea this time. Keep checking in here for more updates. We are really looking forward to seeing you all in February.
