Airtourer T6 ZK-LDG "NZ1761" was there too (seen Sat morning). Not sure where it parked.

Harvard NZ1015 was withdrawn from active flying duty with the RNZAF Historic Flight for an overhaul, and then became civilian-registered as ZK-RNZ/2 in July 2016 (The original ZK-RNZ was a Rans S-12 Airaile). This Harvard was present at the Ohakea event earlier this year, but did not fly, so it was good to see it active again. The new 'wartime' colours certainly contrast with its previous post-war scheme As it was, Omaka April 2007 as it is now, Omaka April 2017 Anyone know the reasoning behind the choice of 'RNZ' ?

I guess the ZK-RNZ was chosen because it's RNZAF?
NZ1015 looks better now than I've ever seen it before. I really was not a fan of that last scheme with the wrong fonts all over it. Now it looks mint.

Wow they are some of the most stunning airshow pic's, love the effects really add atmosphere but also some of the angles of the machines as well, thank you so much for sharing with those of us who can't make such events!

There are some nice photos Mark, and a clever photoshop job on the Maude P-40.
Who are the women in the portraits, I don't recognise them? And the pilot in the three Spitfire photo?

Cheers The Blonds are a added bonus not sure who that are and it does not matter, the eye locked on and how could you not resist a pretty blond . Part of the show. The chap in the last image is Battle of Britain pilot Tom Neil, not sure if it works as a combined image .

Morning All, A few images of the event Regards Mark These two shots are absolute stand-outs for me. Gene De Marco looking straight down the barrel, and the detail you've captured inside the P40 cockpit. Amazing work. Thanks for sharing.

I guess the ZK-RNZ was chosen because it's RNZAF? I would assume that also, but I wonder if someone 'in the know' can confirm that or tell us if there is some more subtle reason.

Another classic aircraft that fortunately graces our skies is the Percival ZK-DPP. Officially it is a Percival Proctor 1, with a history going back to RAF service in April 1940 before going to Australia in late 1953. In the early 2000s it was rebuilt to a Vega Gull standard at Mandeville, hopefully now escaping the handling vices that could plague the Proctor. The first iteration of ZK-DPP was a long-forgotten Cessna Agwaggon.

Of course, no coverage of such an airshow can be complete without that labour of love and magnificent piece of artwork, the Avro 652A Anson Mk.1 ZK-RRA I Cant get my head around this shot ( great as it is ) , is it really from Omaka ? ( You dont state that it is , but its kind of implied by being in this thread ) Not sure about this one either , ( but the depth captured by the lens can be very deceptive - that could be Woodbourne in the background ? )
