Dave, Thanks for that but, as my dad said, " the cemetery is full of people who thought they were the best or indispensable !" There are a heap of really great airshow commentators here. I just wish to improve with each one.

Planecrazy,
Weather co-operating and nothing unforeseen happening, I plan to be over at TAM for the 12/6 Showcase.
Depending on where you are travelling to/from to get to TAM, if you are travelling on the Burley Griffin Way, be aware of detours at Wallendbeen due to the railway bridge there being taken out - literally - after the heavy rains in March undermined the bridge supports. Highway is closed between Wallendbeen and Stockbingal both ways and currently no estimate on when they will get a temporary bridge back in to allow the highway to reopen for 'light' traffic. So coming from the north you have to divert via Cootamundra. Adds about 30 minutes to travel time, depending on traffic given diversion can take a little longer.

Wow thank you so much Col, glad you told me that great stuff, coming from Canberra where my brother lives so he may be familiar with the bridges being out that you talk about. We have met before both at Temora and at the writers thing the RAAF put on in Canberra a couple of years back.

Planecrazy, The heavy rains in March basically washed out the foundations of the road bridge over the rail line on the Temora side of Wallendbeen. As the rail line there is the main north-south line from Sydney to Melbourne, with the risk of the bridge collapsing they closed it to road traffic, closed the rail line for 48 hours and took the bridge down. Wallendbeen Rail Bridge Road by Colin Ford, on Flickr So as you come from Yass down the BGW, on approach you come down the hill at Wallendbeen and where normally you go straight ahead at the little roadabout, you have to turn left and divert via Cootamundra (Red Arrow). Once you get into the outskirts of Cootmundra you turn off to the right where it is signposted for Temora & Stockbingal. Stick to the Stockbingal Road (Blue Arrows) and follow it through to Stockbingal where you rejoin the BGW there and then onto Temora as usual. DON'T take the Old Cootamundra Road that branches off the Stockbingal Road (Orange Arrows). I followed the diversion signs that had been put up before the April TAM weekend and it's a rotten road. Narrow, lots of off camber and blind corners, plus it had a lot of pot holes and edge erosion from the heavy rains. Add to that farmers moving farm machinery along the road and no to little room to overtake. Stockbingal Road is better. BGW Closure & Diversion by Colin Ford, on Flickr On the way back from TAM, just head out along the BGW to Stockbingal, diversion is well signposted on the Yass side of Stockbingal. Reverse track home. Local councils seem to be having trouble getting State Government to get moving on putting a temporary bridge in to at least allow cars to use BGW and to define how long before the replacement bridge is built A game of "pass the parcel" between State Rail, State Roads, National Rail and Councils. Also on way into and out of Canberra there are roadworks going on to duplicate highway from Hall for about 6-7 k's up to the first duplicated section on the NSW side. Lower speed limits for road works, if they are working it is down to 40kph southbound, 60kph northbound, if not working 60kph both ways - just adds a few more minutes to the trip. Given it will be June long weekend, expect to see the an increased Police presence on the roads. Probably see you in the queues before the gates open. Look for the Full Noise cap. Otherwise I usually try and position myself in the little stand to the left of the main display hangar (if they don't cordon it off for a tour group like the April showcase day). Otherwise make sure you bring something to sit on. The Coffee cart is still there on flying days and producing great coffee, also last couple of times they had one or more of the food places from Temora there with food stands in addition to the Mess Hall.

Looks like a great weekend was had at Warnervale Ando. Unfortunately could not get up there. Makes me more excited for Avalon. Anyway a 2OCU F35 made a welcome appearance with a very similar display to the classic Hornet I reckon. That's mostly good because I do enjoy that squat the jet manoeuvre i.e. like the jet is skidding out but also has you wondering what unique stuff it maybe could do.

Stockinbingal the way to go. Its signposted in Coota as "Temora Rd". Yes...the F.35 was great..and bloody noisy. Display routine has a lot of Simmo's fingerprints over it methinks !

Unfortunately...the cameraman completely missed the huge wall of fire that the F.35 flew over and climbed out above in that last manoeuvre

Also captures more of your - as usual - top notch commentary Ando. . This aircraft doesn't need wingtip smoke it self generates wing tip vortices it all conditions it seems.

Right with the wingtip vortices.....also pulls a huge amount of ecto in most manoeuvres

Planecrazy & Ando,
Hope you both enjoy the TAM flying day today. Also hope the early morning fog that I can see on the airport webcams clears as the lineup of aircraft on the apron looks pretty tasty. Unfortunately I will not be there today, last two days suffering with eye irritation - allergic reaction to something so looking like an extra from a zombie movie. Eye drops and instructions to not overstrain the eyes for the next few days.
Planecrazy, look forward to seeing your photos from the day.

Brisbane Air Show has just advised that they are postponing event until 16-17 October 2021 due to current Covid situation across multiple states and territories in Australia. So that will be potentially back-to-back airshow weekends with Temora October Weekend Showcase on 9-10 October.
