Just hearing going overhead my home in southern Canberra Roulette Red, flight of 3 x PC-21 heading north. FlightRadar24 shows them being followed by Roulette Blue and Alladin57, all heading north to participate in the Hunter Valley Airshow at Cessnock this weekend. Weather is currently 10/10ths cloud at around 5,000ft with intermittent showers. Weather up in Cessnock this weekend not looking particularly promising with rain and possible storms forecast. TAM is due to launch their aircraft planned to participate in this airshow today, as is HARS. Could be interesting to see how they go getting in as there are currently large active rain fronts between them and Cessnock.

Things not looking brilliant weatherwise for the Hunter Valley Airshow at Cessnock today. Currently airfield is 'socked in' with low cloud and fog/mist with greatly reduced visibility. Hopefully this might burn off and lift as the day progresses, but at this stage the conditions would be preventing arriving aircraft from getting in. There are also rain showers and another part of the weather front that has been working its way through eastern Australia the past couple of days sitting just out to the west of Cessnock moving slowly to the east.
UPDATE: 1PM AEDST. Looks like the weather gods showed some mercy and the mist and low cloud burnt off by mid morning. Still showing some scattered cloud over the airport and there is still the weather front threatening out to the west, but they may get through the day's program before that becomes a factor.

Nice! falcon124: Doing commentary at the Hunter Valley Air Show today was awesome. The first time I've had the joy of telling people about the amazing world of aviation since Nov 2019

Weather cleared yesterday to allow the full show to go ahead. Balbo finished the day with Hudson, Avenger, Corsair, T28, Spit and P40. Ross Pay and John Brookes contributed greatly to the warbirds with their Mustang, P.40, and Hurricane from Scone. Hudson, Spitfire, Boomerang came up from 100 Squadron at Temora and Corsair from GH at Tyabb. Paul Bennet's local machines including all the aerobatic Pitts, Wirraway, Avenger, T.28 and Ross Parker's T.28 rounded things out. PB's O.2 and Temora O.2 there as well. Waiting to see what happens today with the weather. Still dark here so we wont know for a while yet .

Glad to hear the weather improved enough on the Saturday to get a good day's airshow completed. Have just heard 2.25PM AEDST the first of a stream of PC-21s heading south from Williamtown back to East Sale. The Roulettes are returning as singletons rather than in formation because the weather over this end of the country is not very pleasant today. Lots of wind, plenty of cloud and plenty of rain. At the rate I am hearing them and seeing them on Flight Radar, 5 minutes spacing between aircraft.

A tad frustrating but at least we had a heads up through WONZ (thanks Mustang51!) that this was likely to happen. Accommodation & flights amended & only lost $15 on the changes all up so fingers crossed it is all systems go! Return flight MEL - PER is on QF10, I always try to grab the Dreamliner flights when commuting to / from Melbs

As I read this thread I have the show notes for Warnervale right in front of me ! My only visit to Warnervale was in a Tobago after total radio failure at Brooklyn Bridge at the entrance to the light aircraft lane for Bankstown.....whole thing compounded by much bushfire smoke.

I actually wonder, do they hold airshows in Australia where you're not the commentator, Ando? You do a lot of shows, because you're the best in the business.
