A real shame but understandable. Teresa and I will still be going up to use the opportunity for a holiday anyway as long as theres no lockdown restrictions over that weekend. Roll on Eadter 2023!

Haven't the poor people of Omaka suffered enough, Baz?

I wonder if people will be running coach wine tours under Level 2? Good to call it early, I didn't expect to go once the circumstances of the initial case were explained.

Level 2? There's a pretty good chance that the country will still be in Level 4 by the first weekend of September.

In the words of Captain Blackadder: "I think the phrase rhymes with clucking bell".

Such a shame, but given I see we've had 21 new cases today so far there's no way we'll be back to level 2 or below by the time of the show. I can't even expect we'll be out of level 4.

This thread was straying off the airshow topic, again. I was guilty myself. I have removed unnecessary posts. Please stick to discussing just the airshow itself - any posts about the political situation will be removed to prevent me from blowing my top.

Has anybody tried to apply for a refund yet ? I know it’s still early days , but I tried to follow the instructions in the email and couldn’t seem to work it out . ( probably just me ) . I had early tickets issued by the first ticket supplier , which were then changed when the booking company was changed , maybe it’s different ?

I applied for a refund after the Easter postponement. Like you, I purchased my tickets through Eventbrite. The tickets were then re-issued through Humanitix when Classic Fighters changed suppliers.
Humanitix couldn't issue a refund, as they didn't process the payment originally, so I had to go to Classic Fighters directly. Jane Orphan responded pretty quickly.
Unfortunately she couldn't process the refund either, as the credit card I had originally used had expired by this time and was now invalid.
In the end I went directly to Eventbrite through their website. They were able to process the refund after a bit of backwards-and-forwards, but were only able to pay to a PayPal account because of the credit card issue.

Thanks Brett , I might try the “ contact the organisers “ function on the Humanitix site and see how that goes .
Edit : that didn’t work ( for some sort of computer error message reason ) , so just emailed Classic Fighters direct ( from the link on the website , see how we go ) 😏

You can roll your tickets over to the next show. I'm sure the organisers would appreciate that from all us show regulars. They will be in a financial hole after 2 cancellations so the less refunds they have to give the better for the future of this show I imagine.

Yes , that’s what I did after the first cancellation and would probably do it again if it was just one ticket for me . I purchased the super early bird ticket , so it’s already been close to 18 months since buying tickets and the next show is another 18 months away . Three years is a long time between buying tickets and the actual show, a lot can change in that time . Having said that , I will be looking forward to attending the next show .

I have a Early Bird that I will roll over, and a standard one that I bought for Mum. I'll request a refund for the later in a week or two - like many the card has expired, although I noticed that the number didn't change so that might be easier for them?

I will be going for a refund on the pretext that I might be able to save up for a gold pass in the next 12 months. However I do want to get down there before Xmas as I can't wait 18mths to see the Mossie, again, and the P40. Hopefully there will be a Tshirt and cap for Gloria Lyons that I can buy. Do they sell the Full Noise merchandise at the museum and is there anything out for the Anson.

Sure the organisers would really appreciate those rolling over the tickets. It gives them some degree of planning certainty which would be a relief.

Very true , however they did receive a government grant to give them financial security going into organising the first postponed show from April . I’m not sure how much that actually helped , but at least it would have been better than nothing .
