Bloody marvellous photo of the Wigram Hudson there Peter, that is the best shot I have seen of it in that era. What a difference now, eh!

I had the relics list for the Woodbourne area and worked my way through a lot of them while on Mechs Course in 68. It was given to me by either Ken Jacobs or Bunny Darby Lost the list in a marriage b/u.

Ken Jacobs' one?
The answer is next time I'll just find a woman I don't like and buy her a house!

Talking about houses Shorty, Its amazing what you lose when you shift house. The list is so long it would take a page. I shifted about 7 years ago and have never found half the stuff I packed and sent.

Peter, just for your interest, there is a recent thread with some excellent recent photos of the poor Avenger at Ken Jacobs' place. From memory it was 43willys that posted the thread. Have a search.

Is that the Avenger that used to be in the playground at Havelock North?
If it is, I used to play in that aeroplane when I was a kid.

As there are quite a few members who have joined since I started this thread and may not have read through all the threads on the forum I thought it would be a good time to bump it up to see if they can add anything the discussion. Somebody must be able to give definite answers on one or two of these stories.

Baz is right, it is a Harvard Tailplane. Hasn't been reskinned yet as the stringers are tack riveted and spot welded. After reskinning at No 1RD they were riveted. I did my "apprenticeship" on them and I am sure that Shorty did his share as well

I have seen that tailplane myself during a visit to Auckland Zoo. NZ1025 was still stencilled in the root.
