Zac....email me. I've lost your email address (I was having a ruthless clean-out of my address book a couple of weeks ago and missed a few I should have kept). Also, stick your new mobile phone number in the email. I received that text from you yesterday, but was reading it while bouncing over a rough bit of track (I know, it's probably dangerous to text and drive, but I was out in the sticks away from level crossings, etc, and you don't have to steer a train), but because of the rough bit of track (and my phone bouncing around), I hit the wrong button on the mobile phone and deleted your text (fortunately after I had read it) instead of replying to it. Yesterday was another one of those days....like the earlier day when I accidentally deleted half of the contents of my address book. I guess as you get older (like me), one can always put it down to senior moments, eh?

Baz, just pretend you're a contractor, and syphon some funds out of the bathroom renovation budget into a WoW2010 trip fund, and call in sick for four days! ;D And really, how long does the pain of a kick to the groin actually last for?

OK, I cracked! I'll be joining Zac in our favourite train driver's palatial accommodation. Ex AKL on NZ0639 Thursday 1150, back NZ0648 Monday 1645dep. Choice of Silver vs Gold was easy, no Silver available for Saturday.

Offline til Tuesday so I hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter break, looking forward to meeting/catching up with some of you over the next few days, and I'll endeavour to get PLENTY of pics for those who can't be there.

I'll be in the Silver Pass stand most of the weekend. Will be wearing a black 75 Squadron hat with a Skyhawk on it! If you see me say gidday! I'm heading south tomorrow night after work. Weather for the Friday and Saturday not looking too good. If we are lucky the rain will stay in the west and Wanaka will just get a few spits (I'm just hoping for one Spit during the weekend... of the Supermarine variety!!). I got up close and personal with AL at Ohakea on Sunday at the 75 Sqn Association reunion. A lovely machine. They were having a few electrical problems with it so hopefully they got sorted and it is now in Wanaka. Brendan and his son were there to answer any questions - what truely nice people. Brett Emeny and his Vampire were going to do a surprise display for the reunion but the weather between OH and NP was crap so he couldn't make it. Never mind I will see it in a couple of days

While I'm staying with Bruce (kiwithrottlejockey) and Zac in Queenstown, they are in Silver but I am in Gold. I hope to do a few small photo uploads over the weekend, assuming I can get OK mobile data rates in Frankton or Wanaka. Colin got an action shot of me at Cambridge.

Wanaka is set in the alpine area however they are far enough away to simply provide a scenic backdrop that’s got to be one of the best in the world. And as Skyhawkdon notes the location of the airfield on a terrace high above the Clutha River provides some pretty spectacular entrance and departures. Skyhawkdon, I’ll say hi if I see you. Forum meeting would be good; anyone got any friends in the commentary team? I’m not going to have internet coverage over the weekend.

Take lots of photos and footage of the Lavochkin LA9 before it goes off to its new owner in the USA.

Having done required chores (buy beer, pizza, ice cream, drop Zac off at sky-diving place), Bruce and I have decided that it is time to have a beer.
Regarding a forum meet-up, how about the Gold pass entrance 3pm.
People can text me on 021 0499 351.
I'll do some updating on Twitter. Twitter.com\errolwi

Not that it matters to me at all as I won't be there, and I have not seen a programme of events, but wouldn't 3pm be around the time the really decent acts are performing? Would you really want to be standing behind a marquee at that point?

Just got home early this evening from an awesome (although bloody cold at Wanaka) weekend. I had to dump my down vest and purchase a new one after the old one got torn to shreds in a huge collision on the luge above Queenstown yesterday. Bugger! Still....at least Kathmandu are having their Easter sale at the moment and down vests are half-price, so I was able to pick one up from their Queenstown store. On the flight from Queenstown to Wellington early this afternoon (Mount Cook Airlines), Phil Makanna was sitting just across the aisle from me (he was in seat 1A and I was in 1D).

Phil's probably going to TVAL I suspect. Lucky guy! Yep....I've got a feeling he's heading for Hood to check out Peter Jackson's toys and work some magic with his cameras.
