I thought Yoshi's display was very impressive indeed, almost on a par with Doug brooker in the MX-2

I could only make the Saurday "show" but concentrated on the SAA "Sports" aircraft - with a couple of the display show planes. I believe the SAA may return to Matamata in two years. Definitely under discussion. My gallery is here... www.pbase.com/ascend_photography/tauranga_2010&page=allPete

Great selection of photos Pete. I didn't get the chance to wander that far along the airport to see the SAA aircraft. I hope they continue to have at least a small contingent at these airshows as it is good for the public to see just what can be achieved by enthusiastic aviation flyers.

Thanks Colin - I agree that some of these need to be visible. I am researching (nearly there) what I want to build. I just about have my wife on board (a neccessity). I do realise that: a) Wife must be involved or one invites a divorce (and I married a perfectionist - not to be wasted) b) It will wait another 3-4 years until kids have left home. Good reasearch time... c) I will never have $150,000 to get what I really want but $50 a week over a few years will get me a wooden 80-100mph non-aerobatic 2 seat that the two of us around NZ. d) While Jodels are nice, I won't build one...

SAA hasnt officially discussed ANY venue yet. Whakatane probably isnt in the picture as it doesnt have many of the required facilities close to hand (accomodation / camping, dinner and seminar venues etc)

Zac, yes there will be a DVD, produced by FlightpathTV apparently. There was a pre-order discount (no $5 P&P I think) at the show, which is good IMO. An indication of expected availability time would be nice. Hi everyone, As an update on the DVD, I just thought you would be interested to know we have finished the edit and just need to complete the sound mix and colour grade before authoring the master for duplication. We are aiming to have the completed DVD ready by the end of this month (April). Pre-orders at the special discounted rate are still available online from ClassicFlyersNZ.com There will also be copies available through the Bunker shop from next month. I am very pleased with how the DVD is looking. It will be over an hour long and include broadcast quality multi-cam footage of the airshow, including interviews with the pilots and onboard cameras on and in many of the aircraft, including the Corsair, Dragonfly, P-40 & Sukhoi cockpits, C152 wingtip, and mulitple angles during the Yak-52 display. Just in case you haven't seen it yet, we have uploaded a sneak preview of the Audi R8 vs Dragonfly race at Check it out and let us know what you think. I will post an update when the DVD is done. Thanks everyone for your support
