Nice work, Mark!
They kind of have a WWII colourised feel to them. Is this effect done in PS?

Dave, From my dimming memory he looked about late 20s, tall, had a beenie on and that's about it. Was a quick sighting on the eastern side of Cronulla Street in fromt of the 2230 bar. At Omaka I wore my "Wings" T shirt on the Friday with pride ! You pretty much described me and I'm from Sydney, but I don't have the shirt. I was also living in Cronulla for a while with my now ex girlfriend up until recently. She lived on Gerrale St, just up the road from 2230 bar.

I had a chap post on the wall of one of my facebook groups looking for info on Hawea Tomoana who served with 149 Squadron RAF. I sent him the link to this thread but I'm not sure if he will see it and post here. He has attached a photo to his post as well. www.facebook.com/pages/No149-Squadron-RAF/230269846999091

No doubt it's full of cheesy bad acting. I don't know why the Australian movie industry insists on putting actors with over the top Aussie accents in movies. No one talks like that here. It's embarrassing!

The commercial came on tv last night while a family friend was over for dinner, he rolled his eyes and said that he had seen the commentator before and he was a strange character. Not sure if I'm more keen to see the Spitfire restoration or the odd commentator now

I sure hope his family doesn't read all this. He must of been tired and frustrated and just acted in a fit of rage without thinking it through.

I saw the full version when I was looking for the trailer on Youtube. I was tempted to watch it but I will wait for it to be on the big screen with all the great ads about how I should get life insurance

I think the cafe had bulletproof or extra thick glass because it used to be an old bank.

He was a member of No.149 Squadron RAF and was based at Lakenheath. I made a 149 facebook page a couple of years ago and joined teams with a 149 researcher to help people who are researching relatives. I must admit, he does most of the work lol It's not easy to find records to help people but we do what we can.
That CO made a huge mistake but understandable.

Well don't give up. I have a few photos that I'm trying to figure out as well. I have one of a P-47, I can see the most of the serial number except two numbers and it drives me crazy trying to figure it out, been on it for two years now. I also have a group photo of some pilots with their names on the back and yet I still can't track any of them. My Great Uncle's Stirling was shot down over the North Sea, he and three others were killed, three of them bailed out and survived. They were picked up and became prisoners and were all sent to Luft III. I know one died a few years ago and I can't find the other two. Shame he isn't still with us, I could of asked him for you. Give this site (below) a check or email the guy who runs it. He is a nice guy and put me in contact with the Granddaughter of one of the chaps from my great Uncles crew that passed away. www.wartimememories.co.uk/main.html

I received sad news yesterday of the sudden but peaceful passing of Andy Cook from 14 Squadron. Andy was a corsair pilot in WWII and also my friend.

RAAF uniforms are darker than the RNZAF uniforms
