A sad day guys, everyone had a tear in there eye, even a certain Ozzie ... It's little known that Wigram was the first place I touched New Zealand soil on the 9th of May 1991... and it's an honour that I was crew on the last flight out. We have just got landed at Ardmore and I really love the shots thanks Guys. For me it's all summed up with a statement made by someone yesterday.. "Even the sky was crying" Andrew DAK taxing in at Ardmore today. Thanks to all those that took part in this special day. We will remember them and all those that came before! Colin

Crossing the runway by train. That old milk tanker carries the water for Wa165 when she needs a top up.

Train meets plane at Vintage Voyage, Gisborne Airport. This one taken on Friday and happened to be the Staggerwing fulfilling the plane part of the duo. Sorry about heat haze but it sure was hot! More photos to come. Cheers

Is there still another A37 in New Zealand which was being done up years ago for a English pilot? There is another one in a hangar at Ardmore but I don't know its history and it has been there for a while. Cheers

Thanks Peter, it is interesting to see the comings and goings of different aircraft on the register. Helps when I come across a new one I hadn't snapped before.

Thanks for the comments and for me the A380 has a certain charm(European) of its own, not the prettiest but a functional look ushering in a new era in aviation with lots of room for passengers to move about in flight. Having said that will the airlines allow the passengers more room? Lets face it these aircraft have a huge cargo carrying capacity which in many cases would pay for the flight so will the airlines allow more room for Joe Average in economy? A couple of shots of ANZ 747 ZK-NBW taking off in to the sun just before the A380 left as a comparison. Still has that classic airliner look that all others are judged by? Cheers

The first commercial A380 flight in to Auckland, New Zealand was today by Emirates. It will come here three times a week till more aircraft become available. Monday, Thursday and Saturday. On the other days a 777-200LR will be on in the mean time. Cheers
