No, though having been in a car with him before he was diagnosed as going blind, it was probably just as scary.

Well done, more great work.
The guy who made the master, Martin Brundell is a memebr of my local IPMS branch and will be pleased to see one of his kits actually built. It is sad that he is loosing his eyesight rapidly and no longer can do the job he loves.

My latest model, it's the Tamiya F-51D finished as NZ2427 of 3 TAF Squadron. I used the recently released Ventura Decals and they are fabulous. They are thin yet flexible and the colour saturation i excellent. I'm still looking for HVAR mountings rather than use the one piece mounting and rocket provided in the kit. I have a friend who has some spares froma Hasgawa kit so they be fitted later. Thanks for looking.

True, but it does for India where most of the RNZAF B (I) 12s ended up.
I struggled to find any mention of NZ seats on the site, MK 4s for the Blunty and MK1 in the Vampire trainers etc.

Miumbles has it spot on I think.
The New Classic TA-4 wil need a new fin top and angled refueling probe.
I don't know of any 150 Gallon tanks in 1/48th scale.
The Model Alliance Decals were a limited run ( 250 sets I belive in each scale) so they may be hard to source.

Brilliant work mate, you are putting me and my Classic Airframes Mk1 to shame. Keep it up.

I asked the same question here a while ago and got the very positive response that all RNZAF Canberras had Silver undersides.

Mumbles,
Airfix will be bringing out the B(I) 12 in 1/72nd later this year, so no need to upsize.

OK, this is where I stop. She is as finished as I am prepared to go. The canopy had a strange bloom inside when I removed the masking and although I have removed it and tried all sorts it stubbornly refuses to go. She is finished as NZ6107 using the Airfix decals mainly. I'm saving my Model Alliance sheet for the next one. Both photos are taken in our back garden during the seven minutes which have so far been our summer. Global Warming ? Thanks to those of you who gave feedback and encouragement. The Canberra is well worth the time invested and will be in pride of place at the New Zealand Aviation SIG stand at Scale Model World in Telford in November, along with my Blunty, Macchi and Venom FB1 as a small tribute to 14 Squadron.

It's just another boxing of the basic kit, with some extra bits for and Isreali aircraft and the acmi pod deleted.
I have buckled under internal pressure and ordered one of them, now all I want to know is what are the differences between the TA-4J and TA-4K.

She is in the decalling shop right now, but I forgot to mention that I rounded the horizontal tail a bit as the Airfix kit is too angular and that the consensus over here is that the span of the tail is about 5mm too short . Also there are no trim tabs.
Airfix only provide the exhaust port at the 11 o'clock position when there should be one at 2 o'clock and also at 6 o'clock as well. I used some scraps of decal to simulate.
My plan is to do another in overall High Speed Silver and incorporate all the lessons learnt.
photos to follow after my next trip.
Shorty, the documents were really useful, thanks.

So, I got her onto her wheels and she is a confirmed tail sitter. After a trip to the paint shop using the new Humbrolacrylic sprays just out over her, this is what she looks like. I'm wavering between a late 60's machine with small black codes and an earlier mid 60's machine with big white codes. I have lots of photos of the former but only one of the latter so any help would be great.

Ok so far, the nose has been sanded smooth and the control surfaces added.
Even though I add about 100 grams of lead shot she is still a tail sitter so I have packed the tip tanks as well to see if they help. I didn't plan to add the tanks as from my photos it seems that they were not standard fit on RNZAF machines. Luckily the kit includes a tail stand!
Also, missing for a B(I) 12 is the 'towel rail' LORAN? aerial on the the starboard wing. Any idea when that was added, I have found some delivery pictures which are unclear but seem to show it was a factory fitting?

A bit of the same here as well. I try to model either specific incidents or specific people. MY RNZAF collection tends to be less specific but the WWII models within it follow these rules.
I have had to build review models in the past but I found this very frustrating if I had no interest in the type, so now I don't do it.
