absolutely definately the best series the BBC has produced for years, though I was a bit disappointed with the first series of the sequel Ashes to Ashes. A 2nd series has been commisioned though.
Have you guys caught any of the new Doctor Who series yet?

It's looking absolutely fabulous, keep it up.
The new Hunmbrol acrylic matt spray is an excellent matt varnish if you are looking for alternatives.

The Tiger is finally finished Not my finest hour but acceptable. Finished as NZ723 ex ZK-AHF, of the FIS in early 1940. Thanks for looking.

Me too.
After the Anson I thought that the Oxford would be sure to follow, but they spotted a agap in the market and filled it.

Dave,
not sure your right in thinking trainers would sell. Maybe the three you mention might with airshow exposure but even the old Frog Oxford, Magister and Master were poor sellers apparently.
I'm not sure how well the Aeroclub kit has done but it is a massive improvement on the IMPACT?/SMER kit from the fifities.
What chance an Oxford in 1/48th?

It's 24.95 of Her Majesties Pounds, but I don't know what the current exchange rate is against the NZ Dollar.
The box is shown on the photo and is very shallow and the whole thing is very light so postage should not be a killer. Try the Aeroclub website their postage is always reasonable unlike a larger concern in the UK who shall remain nameless.
It's Fathers Day over here, so I have had no time to finish it but plan to this week, so more photos to follow. I might even do an article for Model Aircraft Monthly with NZ723 and my all Yellow Grading School machine based at Taieri in 1945 from the original kit.

Fantastic news and congratulations to all involved.
Is the one that was at Waihi Beach still in existance?

She is meant to be ZK-AHF of Auckland Air Club impressed into RNZAF service as NZ723. I am not 100% sure that she was red but from black and white photos in the AHSNZ book on Tiger Moths I reckon that is right.
It doesn't look half as good in real life.

I have built the Kiwi Wings kit as well and it is a pretty good starting point.
I used photos of the one that came to Middle WallopAir day for the correct aerial fit. I added the Whirleybird bladder tank and deecals, from which you can do just about any RNZAF Huey.

I thought I'd post this nearly complete model as last time I got this far with it I dropped it and had to basically re-build it. This time I have a record of my progress. It is the new improved Aeroclub 1/48scale kit using their new casting machine. A DH 60 is to follow if this is a success.

I've added the nose cone, it fits OK but needs a smear of filler to ensure no unwanted join line. . The wings have had the control surfaces added, with no traumas.

Photos of the nose showing the fit of the insert. If you add it separately it should be fine. Photo of the fit of the wings to the fuselage. The fit is excellent.

I've assembled the basic wing and test-fitted the engine intakes and exhausts. They all fit really nicely but the position of ythe sprue gates means that some remedial work will be needed on the intakes. I've left these off for the time being.
The wings fit the fuselage perfectly with a little assistance and little or no filler will be needed. The tail planes are also a good fit.
The rudder is covered in overdone engraved lines so I've given it a coat of Mr Surfacer 500 and am going to see what effect that gives.
I'm away working for a couple of days in London so another update later this week. maybe even with photos.

Like you I have not started mine and have the same decals all lined up. I want to do 09 as she was the machine that fought of the A6M3s.
Trouble is every time I open the box of my Fondiere Miniature Ventura I close it really quickly. It is a beast of a kit. I've built the Classic Airrframe Hudson( which took me three and a half years of swearing and at least two test flights into the bin) and in comparison it is a walk in the park.
I've yet to see one complete in any markings. I thought I'd spotted one at last years UK Nationals but it turned out to be the Kloster vacform.
I actually think that if you can build vacforms the Kloster kit is a better starting point.
Maybe when I've finished the Anson??

It's been around for a while and is worth seeking out, it has a couple of Colin Gray's Spitfires on as well as Al Deeres machine IIRC.
I believe it is out of print though.

I'm glad to see some P-40 decals now we need some early model markings, maybe for the Es in Home defence or the Ks and M operating in the Solomons. I know I know never satisfied.
