I thought as illustrated the tail was wrong for an RNZAF machine, except 55 and 56 post transfer from RAN and pre-Kahu. I fell for the same trap with my CA kit. Love to be proved wrong.

I travelled 19,000kms to visit Ohakea and the museum. I would hope some solution could be found as the site was busy the day I was there in terms of people and flying activity. Too many museums are ust that so to see aerial activity was great.
I could park my wife and daughter at the cafe and they were happy whilst i had a good look round.

Baz62,
Occidental went tango uniform back in 2003. Their moulds were sold to Italeri and occasionally re-surface, The Havard has never been re-issued but the T-6 has, without the Havard style glazing.
Harvard boxings are pretty rare on this side of the world. Two of us scoured the UK Nationals and only found a Hobbycraft re-issue.
Did the Red Checkers machines carry the wing gun, the photos I have don't seem to show it but....

Oddly, I'm just building an Occidental Harvard from the later issue with both the T-6 and Harvard canopies. I'll post some pictures when we get some decent day light up here.

Send it back to Airfix and tell them whats wrong, the quality of the decals recently hs improved but you could have a bad printing. Their after serice is excellent, and Hornbby, the new owners are taking the kit business very seriously.
If you don't get a better set, there isn't much out there in 1/72 as far as the Squadron markings go.

Dave, ask and you shall receive. Not my finest hour( or 3.5 years) but here is my CA Hudson with markings for the Bomber OTU, because I put the wrong engines on and only realised when I had finished construction. Thanks for the Hudson images, I have never seen Chips before.

I did mine as a Bomber OTU Machine so it wasn't overly weathered. I would be interested in the nose art as I haven't seen many Hudsons with such markings.

I took three and half years to build the CA Hudson and then bought the Ventura just as I finished it in the flush of enthusiasm.
A much wiser modeller and I were talking at this years UK Nationals and he reckons the Koster Ventura is a better starting point.
Either way the Zotz and Ventura decals are very nice.

It looks like a proper job. I keep looking at mine and then putting it back inthe box. I'm not that brave.

What smashing models, I never thought I'd see a D.H. 50 in any scale. Kudos to you.

Yep, that's what I thought, which means a trip to the RAF records at Kew. At least, I have some names, but though serials were normally recorded, the individual aircraft letter was often omitted.
Though it is a Spitfire Squadron and a fellow Yorkshireman, I have a copy of some pages of a 609 Squadron pilots log book which has serials but no codes, which is a shame as I was hoping to make a model for his family. I'll still do it but it will be more of a representation tham a pece of history.
Sometimes a snapshot is enough though.

Guys,
thanks for the input, I'll probably use the link Fly Navy sent as a role of honour.
I'm still trying to trace code/serial tie ups for indivduals, the serials are on the link but I'm coming up blank for codes.
I know that many pilots used many aircraft and what I am after is probably impossible to find but I would like to try as we hope to have over 400 models on display across 60ft by 4ft.

I'm involved in putting together a large dispplay of Battle of Britain aircraft for the 70th Anniversary in 2010 at the IPMS(UK) Nationals. We hope to have at least one aircraft of each combat unit on both sides.
I've had no problem find NZ Spitfire pilots but drawn a blank for Hurricane pilots.
I neeed aircraft/serial type ups and preferably pictures or refernce to pictures.
Any help would be gratefully accepted. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the pictures, the Hornet looks to be a well deserved winner, good to see the judges got it right.
The New Zealanders at War theme looked darned good too

They do look good,I've recently used their Mustang decals and they are every bit as good as they look.
If these are successful maybe some WWII Harvard markings will folllow. I'm thinkng about the ones with the huge numbers on the side.

Just coming out in the UK now, AFAIK it was never issued up here with RNZAF markings only Omani ones, if it had I'd had a couple as I was doing 1/72nd in those days.
Trevor Snowden did say that the markings had changed for the UK market.
