Hi guys, got the below today. Can anyone assist in identifying this guy? Les.
I received the following email from a modelling friend in South Carolina. Can anyone assist?
Brian There is a gentleman (I think he lives near the Bay of Plenty) who is the leading expert on the history of DH aircraft. I had his e-mail address at one time, but during one of my periodic computer problems, the address got away. Do you happen to know who I'm talking about? There may be a museum as well.

Dunno about warbirds but I'm about to spend $1200US on radio control models very shortly, couldn't even think of it a few years back.

Don't you see the irony of it? Various media have reported that he smacked his child for hitting another kid. The old 'dont hit' while being punished with a hit yourself ;-)

I heard a good comment on the radio about this today.
Is this not the same Green Party that currently thinks 16yr olds at school can't be trusted to buy a pie once in a while? And they want them to vote?
Say no more. Les.

Buy it! It was regular viewing on our days off when in the Gulf, and I mean the entire series one disc after the other, same with the M*A*S*H dvd set we had too though ;-)

I find the roast dinner places provide a good feed at a fair price these days, has pretty much become my first choice on a weekend away. Les.

BA Mk1 in the seat back, aircrew wear ALP's (armour capable life preserver) with the crewmans one having a strop fitted so he can move around, and they carry an MS10 almost all the time.

Dave, go to slingshot tolls and then 25G of broadband costs $29.95 a month. Speeds are pretty reasonable here. I think even on my busiest month I managed to use up about 5G.

Dave, I have easy access to an embroidery machine and know how to drive it and its software pretty well. To save you the artwork setup fees I can digitise the image and email it to you in any format the shop requires for its machine. Then you'll only need to pay the per patch price, probably ~$6-8 I'm guessing, its a very basic design compared to some I've done. I've taken a copy of the 'final' image and I'll rough up a quick and dirty embroidered version tomorrow if I get time. I can save the image as it would look when embroidered and can post it tomorrow night hopefully.

In an un-named Gulf region country a few years back on an Orion deployment for a while, the Aussies at the same base built a beach volleyball court and had some special sand trucked in... Was great, gave us something to hassle them about other than the rugby. Les.

Been here a while but never filled one of these in, figured with ex-S&S trying to take over I had better come out of the closet.
What's your name? Les Stockley
Where are you from? Hobsonville now, originally the Thames Valley.
How old are you?
What is your main interest in aviation? Is it historic? Airlines? Military... Military ;-)
Tell us about your background in aviation. Are you just an enthusiast or have you got more hands on experience? Are you a pilot? Do you have an Air Force Background? Or a civil aviation background? Currently serving in the RNZAF, S&S tech like Beagle and Dave were. Have done a few hours towards a licence a few years back.
Do you belong to any aviation groups, like the NZ Warbirds, RNZAF Association, Royal Aeronautical Society or CAF, etc? Nope, but does the Air Force count?
Are you an aircraft modeller? (Scale or R/C) R/C mostly, prefer gliders and electric. Used to build plastic kits but biffed all my stuff in a move overseas a few years back.
What are your favourite aviation films or TV programmes? Remember Call to Glory? It could have just been this thing I had for Elizabeth Shue though...
Do you frequent other aviation forums? Yep. Pprune and a few others.
Have you any comments or suggestions for this forum, to hopefully improve your own personal usage and enjoyment on the forum? Maybe time to add an S&S gossip thread Dave?
