For all the Nautical enthusiasts the Cruise liner season is well under way and I have managed to capture a couple leaving Auckland. I hope other enthusiasts at Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Lyttleton and other ports can catch some of the liners visiting and post them here too. Silver Whisper leaving Auckland in the morning of 5 January. Sun Princess leaving in the evening of 8 January. Colin

Welcome aboard Dave, it is about time you became active instead of being a Lurker. Have to agree with that and worth a karma point! ;D

Regretfully due to the economic downturn I will not be attending this years WoW airshow. Well everyone seems to blame that so why can't I? ;D
I look forward to seeing lots of photos on this forum from those that are going!

That is a beauty Dave and I saw that sunset developing outside but alas camera was well packed away and other priorities were more pressing. We should get a few more good ones over summer.
Thanks for sharing those interesting experiences kiwithrottlejockey.

Hi Hope you are all having a great time over the Christmas New Year break(those that are having a break). I thought I would try my hand at some sunset shots and the last day of 2008 was not so good so headed back to North Head on New Years day / evening. A few of my pics below: Now just a matter of being in the right place at the right time with camera and tripod close at hand for some more shots. Have a safe and happy break. Cheers, Colin

Marcus that is brilliant!! B&W enhances it, well done. I could still hear the sound of the engines above the music so that is okay for me. I remember watching the aerial top dressing Dc 3 do that turn with in there own dimensions and it brought back old memories. I think it was Geoff flying on Sunday not sure who was First Officer and the Cabin crew. Thanks for sharing.

Great photos Colin. She's a little cutie. Did she like the aeroplanes? She sure did Dave so will be along with Grandad on some future spotting excursions. Cheers

Regret to advise the DC8 rumbled out of Auckland at 0517 this morning heading for Sydney. Thanks Mike. Now I know I should read this forum first thing in mornings to save me doing the round trip! Still I got the Qantas 747 taking off. Cheers

Classic Flyers Cafe / Bar sounds good to me after a tour of the museum. I wonder if we could get enough to fill the Dc 3 for a days outing from Ardmore? Cheers

Brilliant shots Gavin! Love the cloud formation background of Harvard shot, makes it real poster material. Here is one of you and Andrew heading off to work. Cheers

Many thanks to Simon for the use of Thunder Mustang hangar as resting spot out of the sun. A couple of shots from the meet up and great to catch up with fellow enthusiasts. Colin
